Final Event of Life's Cards: An Unforgettable Experience!

On July 3, 2024, in Heraklion, Crete, Women Do Business held the Final Event of Life’s Cards game. The game was developed in collaboration with Women Do Business, the Association of Educational Games and Methods from Latvia, and SAVA KABATA, also from Latvia, co-funded by the European Union. The event was attended by 60 people, including our partners from Latvia who traveled to Crete to support the event.

The event venue was graciously provided by the Hellenic Photographic Society of Heraklion. The event began at 18:00 with a warm welcome and participant registration. It continued with a dynamic presentation by the co-founders of Women Do Business, who spoke about the founding of the organization, its goals, and achievements. Following that, the Head of Fundraising and Project Manager, Silia Dospra, presented the Life’s Cards game, explaining its development, goals, and rules.

Life’s Cards is not just a game; it is a tool that promotes the personal and professional development of young people! Its goal is to boost self-confidence, decision-making skills, and help young individuals discover their inner strength to achieve success. The game was based on interviews with young people from remote, rural areas who shared their success stories, helping to shape the rules and objectives of the game.

The highlight of the event was the game itself! Participants received 15 cards, including a Goal Card. Based on their Goal Card, they had to collect the corresponding Dimension Cards (Resources, Values, Well-being, Sociability) to achieve their personal or professional goals. Those who managed to gather the necessary cards achieved their goals and exited the game as winners.

Those who didn’t manage to complete their cards faced challenges symbolizing life’s obstacles. At the end, each participant gave a one-minute presentation on their goal and the cards they needed to achieve it, sharing their experiences with the rest of the participants.

Closing with Smiles and Enthusiasm

The event concluded with many smiles and enthusiasm, as attendees received souvenirs and a set of the Life’s Cards game to play with their friends, discovering the path of life together and gaining valuable lessons for their personal and professional development. The successful Final Event of Life’s Cards inaugurated a game that will encourage young people to chase their dreams and achieve their goals!
